Wii U / Nintendo Switch (NX)
« on: October 20, 2016, 12:42:33 PM »
The Nintendo NX was officially revealed to be called the Nintendo Switch this morning and Nintendo showed a 3 minute trailer revealing what it does. What are your guys' initial thoughts on Nintendo's newest console?

I think the concept is really awesome. As someone who has primary played his 3DS over the Wii U, a mobile option is definitely welcome. I hope the battery life is strong on it though (but if I were to take a guess, the stationary part probably charges the mobile controller).

One thing that bothers me though is the lack of motion controls. Will the Wii controllers be compatiable with the Switch in any way? How else could we play Wii Virtual Console/ WiiWare games without it? I can't download ExciteBots from the eShop and not have the controller to play it!  :'( That's my only gripe regarding the console right now. It looks great and look forward to learning more about it.

ExciteBots: Trick Racing / A Little Late But...
« on: January 18, 2016, 01:50:31 AM »
Happy new year everyone! I hope everyone that sees this has been having a good year so far. I sure do miss racing all of you guys. I just recently figured out why my Wii wasn't connecting to the Wiimmfi servers so I was able to "Search for a match" for the first time since mid 2014 after the servers shutdown.

So if anyone here who has Wiimmfi setup and wants to join me in some races, I'd be happy to join! I'd also be glad to assist anyone in setting up their Wii to connect online again so we could have some races too.

ExciteBots: Trick Racing / New Record - Silver Mexico - 1:11.9 Time
« on: September 03, 2015, 02:03:49 AM »
Hello everybody! ExciteBots isn't really discussed around here anymore but I thought I'd drop by and share with you all my new record time in Silver Mexico. My new time is 1:11.9 breaking the old record of 1:12.6 set back on January 26th, 2012.

I wanted to tackle Silver Mexico again because it was one of the few courses where I didn't have a record time video recorded. My only beeline video of this course was that of my 1:18.0 time and my best was 1:12.6. The only way I could get a video of my best time was to beat it all over again!

It was no easy task however. Combined with rust and a lack of memory on exactly how I got such a low time, I was having a really hard time getting below 37-38 seconds a lap. After numerous attempts, I accidentally did a trick that easily shaved a second off each lap.

In the beginning of the course, prior to this new found technique, I would jump off the little rock, get a nice landing on the plateau, and then jump into the edge of the other plateau in order to skip the red bar. I typically spawn past the red bar at around 15.3 seconds. You can see what I'm talking about in my original beelining video below:

This new technique requires me to double jump the rocks and fly over the first plateau and immediately land on the 2nd one. Double jumping gave me more air and distance which I wasn't able to do with a single jump off either of the rocks. I did this double jump by accident on my many attempts when I noticed after I crashed and spawned, the clock read 14.4 seconds....I just shaved a whole second of time by skipping that first plateau. :D You'll probably be able to understand me better if you watched so here's the video. This double jump is not easy to repeat so pulling it off two laps in a row had me worried I was going to blow it and crash into a tree. (Before watching, lap 1 actually has me doing a triple jump which worked too but it's the double jump on lap 2 that is all you need)

Well that's all I have to say about that. There's nothing like the feeling of satisfaction you get from finding a new trick that can help you improve your score/time even by just a little bit. Hope you enjoyed watching the video. :) Miss racing and chatting with you all!

ExciteBots: Trick Racing / Just Purchased a Capture Card...
« on: November 11, 2014, 08:00:58 PM » I'll be able to upload more ExciteBots videos....this time I'll be recording with ease! :D

Of course with this game having little to no life in it, one could say uploading more EBTR videos would be pointless. I haven't played this game in a long while but I do feel the ExciteBots content feels incomplete on my channel so I'm going to finish the project whether anyone will be watching or not. Depending on how much I enjoy using this, I'll probably play and record some Excite Truck too.

I'll keep you all updated once my Capture Card arrives. I'm actually itching to break some offline records again.

P.S. This is what I bought:

ExciteBots: Trick Racing / ExciteBots Online with the Wiimmfi Server

ExciteBots Online Setup using the Wiimmfi Server

Wiimmfi Main Page:
Wiimmfi Server Statistics:
Wiimmfi Friend Code Database:

A. Install the Homebrew Channel onto Your Wii
01. On your Nintendo Wii, go to Wii Options in the bottom left corner of the screen.
02. Go to Wii Settings. Write down the System Menu Version that's located in the top right corner of the screen. (Ver. 4.3U)
03. In the Wii Settings menu, go to Internet followed by Console Information.
04. You should see your Wii's MAC Address there, write that down.
05. On your computer, go to
06. On the site, make sure the correct System Menu Version is selected. Enter your MAC Address.
07. Fill out the Captcha and cut either wire (Red or Blue). The download should proceed to start.
08. Go to your Downloads folder on your computer and extract (unzip) the LetterBomb folder.
09. Insert your blank SD card into your computer. Proceed to copy the contents of the folder onto the root of the SD card.
10. Make sure your Wii is off. Insert the SD card into your Wii and turn it on. Check your Wii's Message Board and there should be a red letter with a bomb inside showing up.
11. When you see the letter, click it and the Homebrew installation should begin. If the screen freezes, make sure all the following apply:
>> You have a FAT32 or FAT formatted SD card (try both if one fails)
>> You have the boot.elf file on the root of the SD Card
>> You have a working Internet connection and have an updated Wii (4.3)
>> If nothing else, try various SD cards (even SDHC has been proven to work). If you still can't boot the Letterbomb, let us know.
12. On the warning screen regarding selling scams, press 1 to continue.
13. On the next screen to come up press Continue.
14. In the HackMii Installer, use the D-Pad on your Wiimote to go up to where it says Install the Homebrew Channel. Select it and the installation should begin.
15. Exit the Installer and go back to the Wii Menu.
16. Congratulations! The Homebrew Channel should be located on the Wii Menu.

B. Install the Homebrew App to Enable Online Play (Disc Method)
01. Download this ZIP folder here.
02. Extract the ZIP folder to your computer.
03. Place the "bslug" folder and "apps" folder found in the ZIP onto the root of your SD card (the same card used to install Homebrew). If you already have an "apps" folder on your SD card, place the "wiimmfipatcher" folder found inside the downloaded "apps" folder into the "apps" folder on your SD card.
04. Remove the SD card from your computer and insert the card into your Wii and turn it on.
05. Start up the Homebrew Channel. You should see an app called "Wiimmfi Patcher". Load it up and insert your game disc.
06. Your game should load shortly after it patches the disc. What this app is doing is redirecting the game to connect to the Wiimmfi server instead of the official server that was shutdown on May 20th, 2014.
07. Log on using a profile you created before May 20th, 2014. If you get error code 60000, you will need to register your friend code online to add it to the Wiimmfi database. Enter your FC at . ExciteBots: Trick Racing's Game ID is RX3E. It may take around 24 hours to get your profile added to the database and working online so please be patient.
08. Newly created profiles should work online right away. To regularly play online you will have to start up the Homebrew Channel and the Wiimmfi Patcher app every time you play.

C. Patching the ISO file for ExciteBots Online Play (USB Method)
This guide is not required if you did the disc method above. You will need USB Loader GX already installed and working for ExciteBots: Trick Racing before using this guide.
01. Download this ZIP folder here.
02. Extract the ZIP folder to your computer.
03. Insert your USB device you're using for your Wii games into your computer.
04. Open up WBFS Manager and load the appropriate drive.
05. Select ExciteBots: Trick Racing from the list of games you have installed and click where it says "Extract ISO" down below.
06. Find a location to store the ISO file and give it a name. Once you've done that, save and the extraction will begin.
07. Once finished you will have an ISO file for ExciteBots: Trick Racing. An ISO file (image file) is an exact copy of a disc.
08. To patch this ISO file to connect to the Wiimmfi server, you need to place the ISO file in the root of the folder you downloaded in step 1 of this guide. Please follow the instructions found in the README file of that folder on to patch the ISO file.
09. Now that you have the patched ExciteBots: Trick Racing ISO file, it's time to re-install it onto your USB device.
10. In WBFS Manager, right click on ExciteBots: Trick Racing and click on Delete Game. This will remove the unpatched version of EBTR from the device.
11. Locate the patched version of ExciteBots (located in the wiimmfi-images folder created during the patching process) and drag it onto the right side of the WBFS Manager screen.
12. Right click on the file you just dragged and click on Add to Drive. WBFS Manager will begin putting the patched game onto your USB device.
13. Once it's finished installing, remove the USB device and insert it into your Wii and turn it on.
14. Start up USB Loader GX and load ExciteBots: Trick Racing.
16. Once your friend code has been added to the database you should be able to get online successfully! Newly created profiles should work online right away.

Just a heads up I plan on updating the rankings one last time next weekend. Please make sure your high scores are up to date. Also if you have scores written down of any non-members here, please provide those scores/dates as well.

I'll be updating on Saturday May 30th so get your scores updated!

ExciteBots: Trick Racing / Possible Hope: New Server for Racing?
« on: May 13, 2014, 06:40:58 PM »
I've heard about attempts/discussion about custom servers but it appears someone (or a group of people) have managed to develop a custom server(s) for Nintendo Wi-Fi. I came across this info from a GameFAQs post made on the EB board.

Here's the video they link you to:

I may throw my FCs for my TopStar and TopZerO profiles and see what happens post-May 20th. Thoughts?

Jude's Edit: Let me embed that for you there, TopStar. ;D

TopStar's Edit: Wait...did I just post the link? :)) Well thanks theJude! ;D Side note, went ahead and stickied this topic since os_bboy and I may be on the verge of successfully connecting and racing tomorrow. Results will be announced when it happens.

Records and Achievements / The Bronze Mexico Near 4-Way, 3-Way Tie!
« on: April 27, 2014, 03:54:14 AM »
I've raced thousands of races and I've never been in the same lobby as an unintentional 3-Way Tie until tonight. I'm still kicking myself for not scoring two more stars to make it the first (and likely only) 4-Way Tie but hey this is still a pretty epic occurrence. 8)

So there it is, this is only the 2nd 3-Way Tie to be recorded besides the Silver China tie between NOBAMA, Joom, and RATROD back in 2011. Pretty cool this happens just weeks before the shutdown.

Well ExciteBots friends, the day has finally come. Nintendo has announced they will be shutting down the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service for Wii and DS titles on MAY 20th, 2014. This means that after that date, none of us will ever play ExciteBots together...again. :(

Looks like we all need to get racing while we still can. Perhaps a tourney or two or even a last FwaL. We've got three more months to enjoy bashing bots. :'(

We need a sequel!

ExciteBots: Trick Racing / State of ZLPs
« on: November 05, 2013, 12:38:49 PM »
Anyone still progressing their ZLP(s)? Activity has dropped quite a bit around here but I know numerous of you have ZLPs in progress.

I ran into a ZLP a couple mornings ago named Stork (duck). They had around 200K and had no interest in racing (TensNL alt or Adam?). Either way they got me thinking about ZLPs...who will be next to complete one?

ExciteBots: Trick Racing / Best times to find online activity?
« on: September 22, 2013, 03:21:40 PM »
When are the best times to find decent activity online? When are YOU on? Have you been left searching for matches only to give up with no results?

I haven't been on much but when I hop on during times that were once relatively active, I get nothing now. :( I've been searching for the last half hour hoping to get some races in before the Seahawks game.

Offline / What's your best Red Bar score?
« on: August 03, 2013, 06:32:54 PM »
What's your best Red Bar score? I recently broke my 130 score with a 131 after numerous attempts. The record is supposedly 135 held by Zadrave. Initially I doubted that score being possible but after fast forwarding through my recorded run of my 131, I notice the wheel skipped a few beats, proving a few more stars could be gained.

I theorize 120 is the most you can get off the red bar and 16 stars in time for a total of 136.

ExciteBots: Trick Racing / So as it turns out...
« on: July 20, 2013, 02:46:27 AM » don't need your sensor bar to race ExciteBots. I have two Wiis that I use interchangeably for EB but I use only a single sensor bar (I just plug it into the Wii I'm going to use.) Well this time around I forgot to plug in the senor bar but was able to race offline setting a new time record for Bronze Egypt.

Once I decided I was finished for the night, I hit the home button on my remote and tried to move the hand to the Wii Menu button. Didn't work. I then proceed to check and sure enough, I was racing with a senor bar that was connected to the other Wii (which was off) but not the Wii I was using.

So is there some bizarre science behind this or what? Anyone else able to race with a disconnected sensor bar? It doesn't make any sense considering the motion required to race...

Videos / Would there be interest in Low Scoring videos?
« on: July 11, 2013, 06:21:38 PM »
Out of curiosity, how many of you would be interested in watching more Lowest Score videos? I currently have 1 uploaded (Gold Guatemala) and will have School Finland up soon. Those are the only two courses where you can score 0 while crossing the finish line.

Would you guys be interested in seeing a low score run for each course? Would it be too boring? Share your thoughts and vote in the poll!

Nintendo DS / [3DS] Pokemon X & Y
« on: June 14, 2013, 06:08:44 PM »
[There's no 3DS board so I'm putting this on the DS board]

Pokemon X & Y will be the next installments in the Pokemon Franchise this October and will begin the 6th generation of the series. A lot of information has been released about the game over the last several months, more so during E3.

Why I'm excited:
I've been a fan of Pokemon since the original 151 and have continued to follow the franchise throughout the generations. I'm especially excited for these games because it's the first time they'll be in 3D on a handheld. I was a fan of Colosseum and XD on the Gamecube so it's great to see the graphics on the handhelds are approaching them.

What I feel about the new Pokemon:
I don't have as many issues with Pokemon designs these days as others might as every gen comes with good and bad designs. So far, of the two main legendaries, Yveltal looks the coolest (which is why I'll be getting Y first). I also like Noivern, Gogoat, and Clauncher. What I don't care for is the new Mewtwo forme. Why they went back 5 generations to give one of the coolest legendaries in the game a hideous new forme is beyond me. If anything, making it a whole new Pokemon (like MewThree) would've been a whole lot better. For a list of currently revealed Pokemon, visit here.

Based on pattern, I don't expect there to be a whole lot of new Pokemon. Gens 2 and 4 seemed to focus on evolutions of older Pokemon and have less while Gens 3 and 5 focused on newer fresh designs and have more. They introduced over 150 new Pokemon in Black & White so I'm imagining around 100-120 new Pokemon to be introduced in X & Y.

The new Pokemon Type:
For the first time since Gold & Silver, Pokemon is introducing a new battle type: Fairy. Many figured there may be a new type due to the eeveelution tease Sylveon and how it didn't match any existing types very well. The type gives Dragon type Pokemon a third weakness to help balance out their power. No weaknesses or other strengths were given for the new Type but if I were to guess, Poison would make a great weakness for Fairy (think Fairytales, Dragons, etc.). Poison right now is only strong against Grass types so it only makes sense to beef up Poison Pokemon's offense.

Fairy has long an egg group in the games but it's nice to see it as a type to balance the game better. Originally Light and Sound were rumored to be new types (look at all the Sound based moves and Pokemon) but were proven false. If Sound was a new type, surely Noivern would of been part Sound.

Backward Compatability:
During the Q&A session at E3, one the questions were:

Q - Can you import Pokemon from previous games?
A - We are thinking of something. The DS and 3DS can't communicate, but we are working on it.

This worries me while at the same time pleases me that they want to include BC with 5th generation. As hyped as I am for X & Y, if I can't bring the Pokemon from my 3rd, 4th, and 5th generation games...that right there will be a deal breaker. I'd like my Charizard from FireRed, Espeon & Umbreon from Colloseum, and Infernape from Pearl to rock an appearance in the new games.

I know not many were happy when G/S/C couldn't connect with R/S/E. With over 700 Pokemon on the horizon, not continuing the chain would make it very hard to "catch them all".

On a related note, I hope they bring Ribbons back to the game. I was disappointed when Ribbons were removed in B&W. To me, they showed a Pokemon's achievements on it's travels. I'd love my older gen Pokemon to continue collecting ribbons in the newer games that say "Hey, I've been in numerous games...beating Pokemon from various regions across the GBA, DS, and 3DS!"

That's all I have right now. Anyone else looking forward to these games? Not looking forward to them? Share your thoughts.

General Discussion / E3 2013 Discussion
« on: June 11, 2013, 12:47:44 AM »
Official topic to discuss anything related to the announcements regarding the PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, and 3DS.

I don't game on either the PS3 or Xbox 360 but if Nintendo didn't exist and I had to choose between the two companies....I'm very much sold on the PS4.

Microsoft is jumping into very dangerous waters this next generation. I can understand the concern over piracy but to put such ridiculous restrictions on sharing and always online is absurd.

Meanwhile...I found Sony's response to MS's sharing policies very amusing. :P

Tomorrow is Nintendo's Direct...looking forward to what they have to offer.

No need to watch the video, the URL is the best part.

Wii / Top 100 Wii Games Topic on GameFAQs

Today I visited the Wii message board on gameFAQs after helping a newcomer to EB on the game's message board and I found this topic here. I know that if those of us with a gameFAQs/GameSpot account contributed a Top 10 list with EB as #1, we could help bring the game higher...ya know where it belongs. :P

So I was thinking earlier about how some of the locations in the game have a night or darker themed course compared to the others. Silver China, Gold Mexico, Platinum Guatemala, Platinum Tasmania, and Crystal Nebula all match this characteristic. What if there were more night themed courses based off of the locations already provided? Which ones would you be interested in?

Personally I'm favoring a night themed Finland. I can just imagine the darkly lit ice, blizzard conditions (like Silver Finland only a little harsher), and lots of dark water with glaciers that shifted in the water (wouldn't that make jump combos and landing more interesting?) That would make for a great Platinum Finland don't ya think?

A night themed Egypt would be pretty cool as well. Throw in some twisters and a sandstorm or two. A sunlit Nebula would be interesting but courses based on space shouldn't be lit up by daylight. :P

You've got two votes...pick your favorite(s). :)

Information linked below:

Several of the channels offered with the Wii will no longer be working. Also take note that WiiConnect24 will no longer be available for games meaning for us ExciteBoters, we won't be able to save or send replays to one another or to ourselves. :(

As far as online gameplay, that's still safe so don't panic. :)

Videos / Well, I suppose it's my turn now...
« on: April 10, 2013, 05:26:03 PM »
As some of you know, there's at least 4 uploaded runs of Platinum Tasmania. FLASH's 600 base, 645 base, and 703 base as well as Cody's 658 base. Now it's my turn. ;)

Below is my 744 base video. This video further proves FLASH's theory of 750 being possible and shows the potential of a 760-770 base. Platinum Tasmania is officially the 2nd highest basing course in the game behind Bronze Kilimanjaro.

My line actually fixes that rock gliding issue seen here or at least avoids most of that annoyance because I couldn't really predict whether my roach will jump combo or float. ::) Comparing FLASH's intro to mine, he does an 18 Jump Combo set compared to my 17 Jump Combo set so basically we approach the intro differently but come up with a similar result. If we could round it up to 21 (6-5-5-5) jumps, that would add 12 stars per lap which would help push the idea of an 800 base but clocking it would be the challenge.

An Organized Full House and 4-Way Tie! ;D ;D

We took three attempts. Attempt #1 was the Full House. Attempt #2 was the 4-Way. Attempt #3 didn't even get any ties.

This was the setup we used:

230 (1st 30 sec) Cubestr
260 (2nd 25 sec) BTC
275 (3rd 20 sec) CodyRs
285 (4th 15 sec) TopStar
295 (5th 10 sec) FLASH

...perhaps next time we'll get a 5-Way Tie...and maybe MAYBE pull a 6-Way Tie. ;D

As many of you are aware, I've taken a lot of photos of races over the years, pretty much since I started racing. I feel it's about time to share the collection with everyone. The best way I could do this was via a slideshow video.

This first video is focused on the Spring 2010 time frame. You'll see many lost legends of the game, veterans you still see around today, and perhaps even yourself if you were around back then. There will be many more of these to come so stay tuned!

(I know there's nothing visually fancy about the video. Just sit back, enjoy the music, and unwind your nostalgia.)

Videos / The Great 801 Bronze Kilimanjaro Base!
« on: February 07, 2013, 06:33:26 PM »
Last night I achieved a goal of mine: To break an 800 base in Bronze Kilimanjaro. I started the adventure late in the Summer but the best I could pull was a 759 after HOURS of attempts. Months later, after practice online, I found just enough stuff that getting 400/lap was a little easier. I went to work.

I started the night basing a 777 on my very FIRST attempt. I thought for sure I'd have a few restarts and crashes before I actually got a race completed. This was a good sign of things to come, after all it was the number 777 right? :P

The next race and the races after that, weren't all that flattering. I had countless crashes, wrong ways, and even a few overheats. Thirty minutes of restarts later, I was able to put together a solid run that would've beat my 777 base by 10 or so stars but was DQed a second before crossing. :'(

A little over an hour since I started, began what would be my miracle run. I was running Bronze Kilimanjaro better than I have ever done. You'd think though that after repeating a BK line like this for over an hour you'd be too exhausted to have a good run. Not on MY watch.

Here is my 801 masterpiece. Trust me, I was rolling on the floor, bouncing on furniture, and celebrating like an idiot when I pulled it off. It was even better when my DVD recorder, which has had a history of "unable to write to disc" errors, recorded the achievement. ;D

After watching that video, I see a number of small errors that had I done them, my score would've been higher. However, the funny thing about it is I finished with only 0.3 seconds to spare. If I had done one more spin or jump, would have I been DQed? When my combos started to collapse before the second lap red bar I was beginning to feel nervous as to whether I was going to make it. Re-watching the collapse, I'm kinda glad it happened. It adds to the "Is he going to make it?" suspense.  :-X

I've watched this four times already and It still gives me the same thrill as it did when I was actually doing it. There's no other farming line this intense and complicated. Whew! :o

Videos / 708 Base - Platinum Guatemala
« on: February 06, 2013, 05:46:49 PM »
I think BIG has been waiting for this video since forever. Not sure how much of this will be new now that a lot of this stuff is already out there but nevertheless here it is!

While I based only a 708, there's about 47 stars worth of human error in that video. On a robot/flawless run, basing 755-760 is possible, and a theory maximum online would be at around 820. The video does an excellent job at showing you guys what to do so I had no desire to perfect those small mistakes right now.

ExciteBots: Trick Racing / Room Strength
« on: February 04, 2013, 04:40:27 PM »
If you've checked out this month's rankings update, you may have noticed something new in the Star Total rankings called Room Strength.

Room Strength is a fun new stat that represents the number of opponents you faced in total in comparison to other racers. It works like this:

1. Find the sum of all your scores' room sizes. Let's say they were all 4 player rooms. 4 players * 25 courses = 100.

2. Now subtract 50 from that number. Why? If you look at the extremes:
If somebody's records were all set in 2 player rooms: 2*25=50
If somebody's records were all set in 6 player rooms: 6*25=150
The idea is to simply the system from a range of 50-150 to 0-100.

So, why does this exist? To add something new and to subtly encourage bigger lobby scores. I have done a lot of updating and have seen situations like:

Jimmy [452] -- [6] -- 01/01/2013
Jimmy [454] -- [2] -- 02/04/2013

Which score is actually better? That 452 was set in a FULL room while the other was only a mere 2 star increase in a ...two player room.

This additionally stat will also serve as a tie breaker if in the rare case that two star totals actually tie. Let's look at an interesting example that almost occured before I dug up some scores for myself:

04} -- [13123] + (__0) ~ [100] -- TopStar
05} -- [13123] + (__0) ~ [__6] -- KaBoom!

KaBoom! and I have the same star total. KaBoom! got 13,123 before me so in the old system, he'd have 4th and I'd have 5th. With room strength in place, my 13,123 was set entirely in full rooms (hence the 100 RS) while KaBoom!'s records were set in a room size averaging 2.24 players. The higher the room strength, the harder it was to pull that star total off.

Another example:

07} -- [12718] + (__0) ~ [_26] -- RATROD
08} -- [12712] + (820) ~ [_27] -- Cubestr

These two have nearly the same total and room strength. IF Cubestr had a room strength of let's say 50 or more but was 6 stars less than RATROD, who's really is better?

Just an extra stat to keep things fresh in the rankings. If you need clarificiation as to what this all means, post below! :)

ExciteBots: Trick Racing / What is the value of an online record?
« on: February 03, 2013, 12:01:00 AM »
When it comes to online racing, our ranking system has always been imperfect and we've set rules to help improve the equality of everyone that competes in it. Even with those in place however, there is still a lot of gray area that ultimately leads to a honor system being our only way to go. Here are some scenarios to dip your opinions in:

JoymX and iVeggie are a loving couple that like to race ExciteBots on their two Wiis at home. They race late at night, usually when everyone else is in bed. The two of them are online alone.

FAIR: The two of them race together without telling each other how to race, when to finish, or what course to select. They do what they want to do as if each other were from completely different parts of the world. Records in this situation are okay.

UNFAIR: The two of them pick courses they need to improve records on. One of them has their significant other be a "staller" and give them an 80 bonus or they both agree to ticker farm (or simply not cross until the timer goes off) and see how many points they could get.

GRAY AREA: What if they both want to ticker farm without the other telling them to? What if they choose courses together just because they want to go there, not neccessarily for record gain? What if one of them seriously had too much coffee and had to take an emergency bathroom run 1:45 into Platinum Guatemala?

IRON MAN is an excellent racer who happens to come on the same time as Eve. Eve has a long history of either be a staller or racing but never finishing.

GRAY AREA: IRON MAN wants to seize this opportunity and break some of his records. The problem here is, he isn't really racing anybody. He has the opportunity to jack up his scores above those that don't have the luck of running into a staller who for all we know could be a 6 year old dropping the wheel to go chase their cat around the house. Not only that but those racers might not find it fun to race by themselves and break records. Is this fair or unfair?

BTA (Battletanx_Admiral) hosts a weekly event called Saturday's with a Chicken (SwaC!) where numerous forum goers join together and voice chat. The event often draws into the wee hours of the morning when it's basically the voice chatters racing.

FAIR: They race together without telling each other how to race, when to finish, or what course to select. They do what they want to do as if each other were from completely different parts of the world. Records in this situation are okay.

UNFAIR: They ask each other to stall, race in particular way, bot smash each other for variable stars, etc.

GRAY AREA: What if they chose courses for each other for the fun of it and/or to help others break records while racing their own individual ways? What if they're just good at racing and compete at high levels, afterall it isn't their fault there aren't any rookies in the lobby. What about tournament situations too? If there was a "Ticker tournament" would those records be counted as records of any kind? It wouldn't be fair for those who can't participate in forum events like these due to work, school, or family time restraints. What can be defined as fair and unfair?

It's the year 2016. The TGC has been abandoned and nothing but spammers remain. IRON MAN went on to pursue his MLB career. Spy C and EduYall won the lottery. theDude became an author and sold millions of his award winning 700 page book on how he became the Most Interesting Jerk on the Internet.

EwinNut was the last remaining member of the forum. He gets on EB and attempts to go online for his 40,000 excite win...only to find out, the server was turned off. After wiping the tears back and accepting the realization of what has become of the game, he suddenly remembers there being an offline mode. Frantically, he looks up the Super Excite 1st Place Star Records and the rules that were involved. There were only two rules. Finish in first place and don't hack. This meant...

GRAY AREA: Absolutely none or at least none that I can think of. You can loop, backtrack, crash, farm, beeline, or fry a potato as long as you follow those two rules. It's far more simplier than the online rankings and it lasts....until we're dead!

Looking past my humor, what do you value as an "official" online record? If you set a record in scenerios like those above, do you count them? How much do you mind competing against those that do submit records earned in such ways? For those that don't care about keeping your records, are these reasons? Or are you simply just not interested and or/lazy? Please share your thoughts and/or experiences if you have them.

(P.S. The rankings will still exist, this post doesn't mean it's ending again.)
