F-Zero GX
« on: October 23, 2011, 07:45:42 PM »
Well, since there is no Gamecube forum (although really, if you just wanted to have a "Nintendo Consoles" forum instead, that would probably be fine), I'm posting this here.

I was at the used game shop last night, and they were having a buy two, get one free deal, so I decided to pick up some titles I'd been wanting.  I ended up getting F-Zero GX and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door for the Gamecube as well as Battalion Wars 2 for the Wii.

Since I'm a racing nut, I decided to try out F-Zero first, and was impressed.  The visuals are quite stunning and the music is definately thumping.  However, it's the speed that makes this game so impressive.  Your speedometer reads well over 1000 km/hr, sometimes even getting over 2k km/hr, and it definately has a sense of speed.  You'd be advised to take in the scenery during the pre-game preview, because you'll be needing to focus on track when you're racing.

The game is quite fun, but also very challenging.  I've just been racing on the initial "Novice" difficulty so far, and while I've been able to win fairly consistently, it was by no means easy and the AI are no pushovers.  I can already tell this game is going to come down to memorizing every inch of each track (knowing where the boosts are is a must).

So, does anybody else have this game or play it?  I think most of you guys would probably like it.  And remember, you don't need a Gamecube to play it, it'll play on your Wii as well, although you'll need a GC controller and save pack.
I don't always play videogames, but when I do, I prefer Excitebots.  Keep spinning, my friends.  8)
