... is relevant to my interests.  And likely yours as well.

I was just searching for more information about Monster Games when I came across this VERY RECENT discussion about what Monster Games might be up to these days.  It's mainly just speculation and wishful thinking, but there's a lot of great ideas floating around.  One that really struck as both something that could very much be likely and would also be awesome is the idea of an "Excite Wave Race."

The idea first came up as such:
Quote from:
Freezie KO:
ExciteTruck is their best game. Given the strengths they showed off with that title, Wave Race would fit them well. Both games are very much based on environmental hazards and bonuses, weaving in between trees/buoys and launching yourself off ramps/waves.

That's an excellent point about the launch dynamic -- the rolling waves of Wave Race lend themselves perfectly to the sort of "catch massive air and stick the landing for a boost" gameplay they perfected in Excite Truck and Excitebots. So does the terra-forming dynamic -- you could trigger shifts in the land that reshape the path the water follows, or even trigger shifts in the water itself, such as maelstroms and water spouts. It's just too perfect, really.

I really had to slap my forehead and say, "Why didn't I think of that?"  Later on, it was further elaborated on as such:

Wave Race: EXCITE

- Choose from two modes Excite Mode and Classic Mode
Excite Mode brings the over-the-top style of Excite Truck and Excitebots to Wave Race, with sprawling courses, multiple routes, and trigger points that transform the terrain and waterways via tectonic shifts, whirlpools, waterfalls, waterspouts, tidal waves, etc. Catch massive air and stick the landing, parallel to the wave, for a powerful turbo boost. Placing first in the race does not guarantee victory the highest star count wins, and stars are also earned by catching air, performing tricks, skirting past danger, and more. Classic Mode, meanwhile, returns to the Wave Race of old, with focused no-frills races that require weaving in and out of buoys while taming the waves and catching some air.

- Choose from Kawasaki Waverunners and Innespace Seabreachers
Kawasaki Waverunners are powerful but stick to the surface of the sea with mild dips underwater, while Innespace Seabreachers are zippy one-man submersibles that roll, leap and dive like dolphins, slicing the surface and plunging past waves. The two vehicles do not race together; instead its like Pilotwings, each craft offering unique experiences.

- Explore a vast open world in single-player and multiplayer
Freely roam vast expanses of water, intricate waterways and water-logged caverns, and even plummet off waterfalls. Witness marine life and randomly generated weather that drastically changes water conditions. Meet up with other players online, exploring together and setting parameters for races and challenges.

- Customize and create one-of-a-kind courses
Create Excite or Classic courses, for Kawasaki Waverunners or Innespace Seabreachers, shaping the waterways, arranging buoys, placing trigger points for terrain changes, and so on, or take existing courses and modify water conditions, weather, time of day, etc.

Yes.  Please.  Anybody else agree?
I don't always play videogames, but when I do, I prefer Excitebots.  Keep spinning, my friends.  8)

Not entirely sure why, but I thought about Mirror School Fiji.
